GOLD MINE WATER TREATMENT

Gold Mine Mobile Water Treatment System

IAMGOLD Corporation Cote Gold mine water treatment project is using the power of Gel Flocculants in 9 x GFR 1000 reactors at various locations on the site to treat water in an environmentally friendly way. Understanding the clients’ needs are essential in providing the right solution.

Building a new mine brings many challenges. Dewatering and diverting multiple lakes, rivers and waterbodies adds complexity to both construction and regulatory compliance. Successfully treating large volumes of water while ensuring environmental protection is a necessity as was working collaboratively to find a practical solution.

Clearflow Gel Flocculants are needed to reduce Total Suspended Solids (TSS) to meet release regulations and protect aquatic habits.

IAMGOLD Corporation Cote Gold project is using the power of Gel Flocculants in 9 GFR 1000 reactors at various locations on the site to treat water in an environmentally friendly way. Canada Pump & Power flows TSS-laden water through these units and onto filtration bags to mitigate gold mine water treatment challenges thus ensuring regulatory compliance. With their very successful use in 2022, 6 more reactors have been ordered for 2023. Proving it is possible to eliminate dosing pumps and chemical storage totes thus lowering the carbon footprint with a more simple, effective and sustainable solution.

Clearflow Technologies on Site:

After proving our technologies in the first year the client asked if we could design a containerized systems for cold weather operations. Each of the units needed to provide flocculation between 2500 – 4000 gpm, be portable and insulated. Our solution fits in a 20’ Seacan, has no moving parts and a low carbon footprint.
